Location: Firespit Island
Heatran is found as part of the "The Plate of the Firespit Island" mission after completion of the main story. In this story you have to go to Firespit Island where things seem to have been getting worse. When you go to the volcano, Iscan and Palina will say you need to check the volcano. Go inside and you'll find Heatran. Heatran will have a fire shield around it which can beknocked down by the Balls of Mud around it. After its shield is gone, you can start a battle to defeat it.
